At the heart of Tehran, Jomhori Street, a narrow deadend alley. at one corner you see a newly built mosque with all the lights and propagandic facade!!! at the other dark corner, there is a little door, a policeman and an armenian official guarding it! you cross the door and you enter under the city's skin!!!
you encounter wild people talking in the language you don't know! you see the culture that you are not familiar with. gurls with no scarf! the people you will never recognize in tehran streets, they are among us walking everywhere! under the photos of islamic revolution leaders, you hear drums, and IRON MAIDEN and METALLICA songs chanted by hundreds of armenian-iranians. Strange people who speak farsi the same as you do, have to do military service! and the funny thing is that these people are free to perform rock concerts, drink alchohol and have mixed gurls and guys parties!!!
no muslims are allowed to be in these underground places. you should not know, islamic republic doesnt want you to see and know. the cencorship is not only in media, music and art, its everywhere, every inch of this country is cencored, islamic republic means cencorship. But filtering and cencorship should not a big deal for us. if we want, if we decide to join the REBELION.
there are alot of things going on under the city skin, there are so many invisible cities in Tehran. you just have to be a brave explorer to find out what is going on around you, may be a few blocks away!
