Barack Obama

when americans talk of change, it’s a change itself!
for years they thought of being the best! the # 1! now they finally talk of change! talk of their mistakes! Barack Obama is not one charismatic person, he is a leader of a movement, which has been hidden inside america’s society in recent years, the liberal movement which brought workers, woman and blacks to streets of America in 50’s 60’s and 70’s. it is JFK, it is MLK. the social movement which has strong bases among youth and educated. it includes a vast spectrum of various groups, from pragmatic feminists and sexual freedom movements to worker unions, greens and human rights NGOs. what is evident is that this “Obamaniacs” have been away from the political power for years. the Obama campaign is not the symbol of the emergence of these various left or liberal movements, but the rise of the iceberg pick been hidden beneath American social and cultural structure. mostly active in internet, its campaign is the manifest of the struggle of new layers in American society to push back the traditional fundaments and values, both in politics and culture.

strong conservative resistant both within republican and democratic parties has emerged to stop Obamaniacs from stepping into white house. Hillary campaign is simply a big show to distract the attention of feminist movements from Obama campaign. the conservatives have understood that there is no great nominee on republican side to stop Obama so they are investing on Hillary as the only hope.
it is easy to expect strong media support for Clinton as she has been endorsed or named as hopeful nominee for U.S. presidency again and again in highprofile American newspapers. her victories in primaries are highlighted, while the endorsements pouring on Obama campaign are undermined in CNN, ABC or CBS. but still there is not much room for the conservative media to maneuver on this as the internet independent media such as bloggers which are more attractive to the young generation gain the upper hand. Manusel Canstells predicts the encounter of forces of change and forces of tradition is his 1997 book. now we must wait and see who wins this time!
